I'm a big pedal nerd apart from being a musician and audio engineer. My favorite pedal ever is the Earthquaker Devices Afterneath! It is such a magical reverb, it makes anything sound so ethereal and ambient, but can be used in all sorts of contexts.
It is such a beast for what it appears to be. I want a second one in the future to use as a piece of outboard gear, it's just that good!
